You and I, we've come so far
Paid the price of building on earth a paradise
Admire the cunning eyes that I have worn to drawn outside the line
Through the misery and war
A brazen vision to conquer everything but inner space
I’ll admit that we were wrong!
It's such a shame that I
Wouldn't dare to be true to the ways I portray
I've sold the best of myself out
Are you hurting? Are you so deprived?
We'll burn this catatonic age down
It's such a shame that I
Wouldn't dare to embrace my defeat
No giving, no light, I repeat myself in time
Are you hurting? Are you so deprived?
Let’s burn this catatonic age down
Are you taking every twist and turn?
for I have been with you from the beginning of me
I chased you through every corner of this hell
To look you in the eyes
Is this all you'll ever be?
Recall the moment they tore the sun apart
And killed the light that called you home
Stand in the wake of coerced corruption
Break the chain
End it all
Are you hurting? Are you so deprived?
The struggle within is a way out
How long I've waited to see you spread your wings?
How long I've waited to hear you whisper your song?
You’ve searched and crowned the past for far too long
Sing in praise of love,
End it all

Spires was stealthy under my radar for a decade but now had a catch up with their fantastically ambitious discography - thanks for such a cool bundle. "A Parting Gift" is a bit more introspective than 2014's "The Whisperer" but in a good way. It's still the winning balance of Extreme Metal (Death/Doom and some Blackened peaks and pits) of the proggy variety with Prog Rock's fusion of ambient and soft acoustic Folk. Great memorable songs wrapped in a polished warm production. Epic and dark! ALPHA-OMEGA
I loved this album since the first time I've heard it. Emotive, dramatic, sad, fulfill feelings, pink Floyd influences are clear although the melancholic and time to time, scarred elements created an obscure atmosphere and an own identity. A masterpiece. Ceff
