Stepping through the sheltered lines
To find the new projections of you,
I know you’ve been here before
Reclaimed the time this cycle stole
Braved the tides, disintegrated the stars
How the truth disenchants your eyes
Rise above all the noise my love
You hold the fate of this world
You are the last in line to shake
And tear all the temples down
Contemplate what we cannot escape
When all is said and done
Dilate my world
The angles must disappear
Squandering a thousand lives
For we are united by fear
Take this ancient fire
In your naked hands
Watch how the symbols fly
To bury all the answers underground
You are the last in line to shake
And tear all the temples down
Contemplate what we cannot escape
When all is said and done,
Praise my landing (on the other side)
On the tail of the sunrise
Fragments of hope spiral inside
Revelations bring sacrifice
Dilate my world
The angles must disappear
Take on my burden, show and tell the exit is near
Dilate my world
Until I tune into a place much higher
Give up the semblance of obedience before the end is near
Obsessions have bent and shaped my mind
Now black is all I feel

Spires was stealthy under my radar for a decade but now had a catch up with their fantastically ambitious discography - thanks for such a cool bundle. "A Parting Gift" is a bit more introspective than 2014's "The Whisperer" but in a good way. It's still the winning balance of Extreme Metal (Death/Doom and some Blackened peaks and pits) of the proggy variety with Prog Rock's fusion of ambient and soft acoustic Folk. Great memorable songs wrapped in a polished warm production. Epic and dark! ALPHA-OMEGA
I loved this album since the first time I've heard it. Emotive, dramatic, sad, fulfill feelings, pink Floyd influences are clear although the melancholic and time to time, scarred elements created an obscure atmosphere and an own identity. A masterpiece. Ceff
